You Know it’s Coming
Summer is finally here in the PNW, and the kids are about to be out of school and asking for snacks All. Day. Long. We long ago gave up on saying “Just wait until lunch,” and after all, kids who are outside running around and burning energy need hydration as well as healthy calories, so the game becomes getting them to eat healthy snacks instead of loads of simple carbs.

Here are 7 recipes you can make in bulk and feel great about the kids eating from sunup to sundown. For toddlers, you can probably get away with some of these as a whole meal! And if all else fails, they can just grab fistfuls of frozen berries and eat ‘em straight out of the bag!
1. Berries in Yogurt
This is probably the easiest recipe on the planet! Grab the Stahlbush berries of your choice (we recommend our Northwest Berry Blend for variety) and dip them in yogurt individually. Place on a parchment-lined cookie sheet or any kind of container and put in the freezer until frozen solid. Alternatively, you can also use fun-shaped molds, add the yogurt and then drop in the fruit.
2. Fruit Kabobs
You can prepare these ahead of time, or let the kids have fun making them as needed. Cut your favorite fruit and frozen berries into bite-sized pieces and line up on a skewer. Serve cold. Note: Not recommended for kids who can’t handle the skewer safely.
3. Stahlbush Easy Frozen Berry Popsicles
1.5 cups any kind of Stalbush berries
1.5 cups vanilla greek yogurt
3 tbsp honey
Combine the berries, Greek yogurt and honey in a food processor.
Puree until no large pieces remain.
Add the berry mix to your popsicle molds, insert sticks and freeze for 5 hours. Note: If using a popsicle mold that does not have an insert for the popsicle stick, freeze the popsicle for about 2 hours and then insert the stick. You can also use a funnel and pour into ice pop sleeves!4. Stahlbush Snow

3 1 tablespoon honey
4 1/2 cup water
Place frozen fruit, honey, and water in a blender or food processor. Blend thoroughly, adding an additional 1/4 of water if needed to blend. Serve immediately for a snow cone you can scoop with a spoon, or let rest for 5-10 minutes for a slushie you can sip through a straw.
